Bio

My name is Ananth Kuchibhotla. I grew up in Peoria, Arizona and attended BASIS Peoria High School. I am now a student of the University of California - Berkeley, majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. When I'm not at school you can find me at the basketball court, behind a piano, volunteering, or tinkering around with whatever engineering project I began. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, but I also believe in giving back to my community around me.

Service

Throughout my high school career, I have been the Secretary of Education of the iSERVE Youth Group. Our goal is to ameliorate health defections, promote education, and improve basic infrastructure in third-world India. We have raised over $7,000 in the last three years. In addition, I have participated in the Sathya Sai Center of Phoenix ever since I was eight. It is a spiritual organization dedicated to active community service. Through the center, I regularly volunteer at Andre House Homeless Shelter, Desert Mission Food Bank, and Habitat for Humanity, providing over 200 hours of service. For more information about the Sathya Sai Center please visit:

Lastly, I dedicate 4 hours a week to my hospital volunteering job. As a transport volunteer, I deliver medical specimens, file patient records, and discharge healed patients. I have been a John C. Lincoln staff member for 5 years.

Engineering

Over the summer of 2013 I was able to explore engineering at the John Hopkins Engineering Innovation Program. I met many amazing people and was able work collaboratively with students just as passionate as me on intriguing projects.

For more information about this program, please visit: http://engineering.jhu.edu/ei/

Apart from this program I also completed my Basis Senior Project, which was my first foray into the fascinating world of biomedical engineering. This blog is dedicated to the research I perform during my internship at Scottsdale Neurofeedback Institute in Scottsdale, AZ.

I am now pursuing a B. S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California - Berkeley.
